PSALM receives special recognitions from Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC)
The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation received four special recognitions from PEMC during the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) Compliance Officers Conferment and Annual Compliance Awards held last 14 November 2023. These recognitions were given to PSALM in view of its timely submission of compliances and conformance to standards in electricity trading in accordance with the WESM rules and manuals.
PEMC specifically noted in the certificates that PSALM efficiently managed and submitted regulatory compliances of its operations in Agus V, Pulangi IV and Agus VI Hydroelectric Power Plants. These plants were assessed as the top three most compliant hydroelectric power generators in the country. PSALM’s Mt. Apo II Geothermal Power Plant also topped the list of most compliant geothermal power generators in Mindanao.
In recognition of the efforts of WESM Participants, specifically generators, to comply with the requirements of the WESM Rules and its Manuals, particularly but not limited to the said WESM Participants' obligation to offer their maximum available capacity, submit their standing nomination or standing projected outputs, depending on their generator classification in the WESM, and to comply with the real-time schedule/dispatch instructions, PEMC shall confer awards yearly, and recognition on a periodic basis subject to a set of criteria as laid out in the guidelines.
