PSALM conducts Gender and Development Awareness Workshop
There is a growing recognition of the critical role that gender plays in social life. Connected to this are the need for a more gender-sensitive approach and increased awareness of this concept particularly in the workplace.
Last 30 October 2019, PSALM’s GAD-FPS invited Ms. Kassandra Barnes from the Philippine Commission on Women to conduct a one-day Gender and Development Awareness Workshop where she highlighted basic Gender and Development concepts and the capacity of social institutions to mold our ideas of gender roles and stereotypes.
Through different activities, participants were able to deconstruct issues relating to gender and recognize that everyone has a stake in the fight for gender equality.
