PSALM holds Health and Medical Mission 2016

In what is hoped to be the start of more joint activities, PSALM and National Power Corporation (NPC) volunteers, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserved Command led by the team of Doctor Joselito Vital, visited on 28 May 2016 the residents of Haligue Kanluran, Ilijan, Batangas City for a one-day medical and dental mission. This is in line with PSALM’s corporate social responsibility thrust of stakeholder engagement in its operations. Ilijan is the site of the 1,200-megawatt Ilijan natural gas power plant.

The volunteers provided the locals with medical and dental check-up and consultation, tooth extraction and circumcision, all for free of charge.

The efforts didn't end there, as medicines and vitamins were also provided to those who came.

The mission registered 178 beneficiaries but the group was able to accommodate almost 230 people including the military, local government units (LGUs) and other support groups.

This medical and dental mission is a continuous outreach program PSALM provides yearly to its host communities. It is indeed a welcome development that this year, PSALM volunteers were joined by their counterparts at the NPC.
