PSALM raise funds to support the urban gardening project of Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary School

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) raised funds for the benefit of the urban gardening project of Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary School on June 25, 2021. The project, dubbed as “Adopt-A-School Urban Gardening,” intends to alleviate the hardships and stress of students’ parents and school personnel brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Barangay Pag-asa is the host barangay of the PSALM office located in Vertis North Corporate Center 1.

PSALM collected contributions from the officers and employees of PSALM to raise PHP18,000.00 for the project. The funds were used to purchase one (1) elf truck load of garden soil, three hundred twenty (320) pieces of small pots for vertical gardening, and one hundred (100) pieces of rectangular pots for horizontal gardening, which were then delivered to the school by the PSALM CSR team. Parents and school personnel can now use these materials to grow vegetables in the comfort of the school community.

“We are very grateful to PSALM for acknowledging our request and helping us supply the right services for our learners during this pandemic. The entire school personnel and parents will benefit from this urban garden as this will continuously provide healthier food, beautify our school community, [and] benefit the school’s ongoing feeding program,” said Ms. Juliet E. Arellano, Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary School’s Principal.
