The PSALM Silid Karunungan Project: A Treasure Trove of Learning Materials

The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM), in partnership with CI-Philippines, Inc., donated a total of 9800 elementary and high school books for Science, English and General Resources to selected recipient schools and libraries. Named the Silid Karunungan Project, the book donation project ran from 06 to 07 November 2020.

The following schools and libraries were the recipients of the project:

Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary School - 1000 books

Barangay Malaya Library – 3000 books

Pililla National High School – 2900 books

Tanay Library, Archives & Museum – 2900 books

Given the measures of local lockdowns due to the COVID pandemic, school principals and local government unit (LGU) officials facilitated PSALM in securing a safe and orderly distribution of books to the schools and libraries. The PSALM personnel strictly observed protocols while distributing the books in these areas. A memorandum of agreement and an acknowledgment receipt were signed by the school principals and LGU officials to formally document the donations.

The Silid Karunungan Project is a new endeavor of PSALM under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm which is currently managed by two units, namely, the Strategic Communications and Partnership Division and the Human Resource Management and Development Division. Through the years, PSALM conducts CSR activities to the host communities of its power generation assets, including those turned over to private corporations.
