Corporate Social Responsibility

Bisita Eskwela: PSALM’s 2015 computer transfers

In support of countryside IT development, PSALM recently turned over computers to various provincial schools for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program for 2015. Midway through the year, PSALM’s CSR group has already completed eight (8) of its target 10 beneficiary schools from different parts of the country. The recipients include the Doña Catalina Elementary School and the San Roque Elementary School in Aguilar and San Manuel in Pangasinan, respectively; the Sagrada Familia Elementary School in Hagonoy, Bulacan; the Casimiro A. Ynares, Sr. Memorial National High School in Taytay, Rizal; the Daet Elementary School in Daet, Camarines Norte; the Sta. Justina East Elementary School in Buhi, Camarines Sur; and the Putsan and Sugod elementary schools in Tiwi, Albay.

The activities were a welcome and meaningful respite for the employees who had participated, allowing them also a taste of the many traditional dishes that the places they visited had to offer as a bonus. But alongside their much-needed R&R, it was an opportunity to do community work and cultivate a deeper appreciation of CSR by catching a firsthand glimpse of some of the country’s public schools and the students who attend there. To some employees who took part in the activity, it was also a trip down memory lane, as some of these recipient schools in one way or another are part of their growing years and much of who they are today.
