Pamaskong Handog to IP students of Maramag, Bukidnon

As 2018 drew to a close, PSALM Corporate Social Responsibility volunteers, together with the plant management of the National Power Corporation (NPC) Pulangi IV Hydro Electric Power Plant distributed school bags, supplies and medicines to 150 junior high school students of the Mindanaw Tribal School, Inc. in Panadtalan, Maramag, Bukidnon through the Pamaskong Handog 2018 program.

Supervised by volunteer teachers, the school caters the educational needs of Talaandig and Manobo Tribal students with a mixture of Department of Education and Indigenous People (IP) curriculum while preserving the teachings for its language, customary laws and invoking the indigenous songs, dance and art. The school has been operating for quite some time with no budget, often relying on non-governmental organizations’ donations.

With high hopes and expectations, the school management expressed its appreciation to PSALM and NPC through its traditional exchange of coins and prayers. Pamaskong Handog 2018 fulfilled its purpose of bringing happiness and imbuing the feeling of importance among IP students who seek bright futures ahead despite financial inadequacy.
