Sta. Justina East Elementary School – Buhi, Camarines Sur

During her elementary days, AGSD Corporate Staff Specialist Marelyn Aquino remembers walking to Sta. Justina Elementary School because it was just a mere stone’s throw away from her humble Bicol home. A sure uragon despite being a letdown at munching on a fiery labuyo pepper to which most Bicolanos are known for, PSALM’s Ms. Maa has always been proud of her Bicol roots. And since graduating from Sta. Justina, Ms. Maa has always dreamt of giving back to the school that was once her second home. So, when the opportunity presented itself, she proposed the inclusion of her primary school as one of the recipients of this year’s computer transfer activities.

Upon arrival at the school, PSALM employees were welcomed by schoolchildren playing drums. Arriving hungry from the journey, the PSALM employees were treated to a sumptuous lunch of traditional Bicolano dishes. A short program followed after, with PSALM Corporate Social Responsibility Vice President Atty. Helena Tolentino giving a brief remark,

followed by a heartfelt acceptance message from school principal Jose T. Panga. Of five (5) computer sets in their possession, Mr. Panga said the school had only one functioning CPU that was being shared by more than 700 students. The computers from PSALM, therefore, were very much appreciated.

“PSALM is our partner in education. The five (5) computer units we have from PSALM will help make the students become computer literates,” Mr. Panga noted.

PSALM’s computer transfer was also very timely, as the school recently celebrated its centennial anniversary last 15 May 2015.
