CAYS Memorial National High School – Taytay, Rizal

Taytay, Rizal is a rather familiar place for the PSALM contingent not only because of its proximity to Metro Manila, but also because it – specifically, Tres Escalon - was the venue of last year’s river cleanup activity, which was joined by other volunteer organizations as well as locals of the area, including the students of nearby Casimiro A. Ynares, Sr. (CAYS) Memorial National High School.

Arriving at CAYS for the computer turnover on 24 February, the PSALM contingent was shocked to find what had been awaiting them: a full band erupting in festive welcome as the computers were being offloaded; majorettes gaily twirling their batons to the accompanying music; and a whole line of CAT cadets standing in attention and salute as they paved the way to Principal Magno R. Abueme’s office.

Indeed, PSALM’s turnover of three (3) computer sets was a welcome addition to the growing IT requirements one of Rizal’s top performing high schools, whose student population now numbers to about 3,000, compared to its initial 212 enrollees when it began operating in 2005.
