Bridging the digital gap: PSALM’s donation of desktop computers to General Isidoro Torres Memorial Elementary School

As part of the line-up of activities in celebration of PSALM’s 23rd Founding Anniversary and 2024 Corporate Strengthening Week, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team composed of Ms. Loida P. Uy (Strategic Communications and Performance Management Office-Office of the President and CEO), Mr. Benjamin C. Roque, Ms. Evelyn G. Ranque and Ms. Vianne Pauline L. Lopez (Human Resource and Administrative Services Department-Corporate Services Group) distributed five (5) desktop personal computers to General Isidoro Torres Memorial Elementary School, Matimbo, City of Malolos, Bulacan. School representative Ms. Maria Kristina Adriano welcomed the PSALM contingent for the computer transfers.

PSALM’s Disposal Committee facilitated the transfer of the computer desktops through the issuance of a resolution approving the proposed disposition. A few months prior to the transfers, School Principal Dr. Elvira S. De Guzman requested assistance from PSALM President and CEO Dennis Edward A. Dela Serna on the provision of used computers that will be used by the school.

“The transfer of the used but functional computers addresses the existing digital divide or gap between youngsters and educational institutions that have free access to the latest communications technologies such as high-speed computers, laptops and other gadgets for learning. We hope that PSALM’s computer transfers would be incremental yet important steps in bridging the digital gap existing in many schools in the country,” PSALM President and CEO Dennis Edward A. Dela Serna said.
