PSALM conducts In-house Seminar for Public Administration students of Batangas State University

On 24 April 2024, 46 second-year Public Administration Students of the Batangas State University-The National Engineering University (Pablo Borbon Campus) attended the In-house Seminar of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation in their efforts to learn outside the confines of the classroom. The students were accompanied by two of their university faculty members and Metro Manila tour guides for the entire duration of the educational tour.

The afternoon seminar treated students to a rich presentation of topics ranging from PSALM’s historical background, accomplishments, governmental functions, its twin mandates of Asset Management and Privatization and Liability/Financial Management, its Universal Charge Administration mandate, and top priorities and programs for CY 2024 and onwards.

“The in-house seminar was conducted with the aim to properly inform participating students of PSALM’s role in the energy sector and how its work impacts Filipino electricity consumers. Our competent resource speakers and officials imparted valuable information to undergraduate Public Administration students who may one day consider careers in the government’s energy sector,” PSALM’s Officer-in-Charge and Vice President for Legal and General Counsel Atty. Maria Ilyn G. Albito said.

At the finale of the seminar, Prof. Darryn Mehmet Detecio presented to PSALM’s Officer-in-Charge and resource speakers which included the Vice Presidents for the Finance Group and Privatization and Asset Management Group, the Certificate of Appreciation signed by Dr. Bendalyn Landicho, Dean of the University’s College of Accountancy, Business, Economics and International Hospitality Management.

PSALM organized the seminar upon the request and coordination of Joy Voyage Travel and Tours with the Strategic Communication and Partnerships Division of the Corporation.

Conducting Information-Education-Communication (IEC) activities, such as seminars with external parties, is a key thrust of PSALM to effectively communicate its mandates, governmental functions, and services to the public and a way to show PSALM’s commitment on its Corporate Social Responsibility.
