PSALM transfers and donates twenty (20) desktop computers to selected beneficiaries

On 17 December 2021, PSALM transferred and donated eight (8) desktop computer units to the Christ the King Parish in Batasan Hills in Quezon City, seven (7) units to the Local Government Unit of Buhi in Camarines Sur and five (5) units to Prisoners’ Enhancement & Support Organization (PRESO) Inc. in Novaliches, Quezon City.

Christ the King Parish, located in Filinvest, Batasan Hills, Quezon City, provides scholarship grant to the children within its vicinity for the past nine (9) years. Its goal is to give its scholars a program that will support them to cope with the dynamics of today’s learning journey such as online learning. The computer units donated will be used for the computer literacy program of the scholars.

The Local Government Unit of Buhi is in the process of rehabilitating its facilities and equipment in order to better serve its constituents. Barely a year ago, the town was devastated by a series of three strong typhoons. It shall use the computer units to augment its current information technology system in various offices including the Agriculture Services and Public Safety Office.

PRESO Inc. is a non-profit organization under the leadership of retired Judge Aurora N. Recina. It renders paralegal assistance/service and other forms of program support to the indigent, low-risk inmates in the different jails within National Capital Region. Their goal is to to facilitate the immediate release or disposition of cases of these inmates and to provide crisis interventions after their release. The computer units given will be used in the conduct of training-seminars for jail volunteers, correctional workers and their concerned agency personnel.

The PSALM Computer Transfer and Donation Project aims to address the gap in the resources that various developmental organizations and offices encounter. The transferred and donated computers will be utilized to aid the selected beneficiaries in pursuing their work and ministry efficiently and effectively.

“We are very lucky to be have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of PSALM’s Corporate Social Responsibility Project. We have a scarcity of computers as we are all working remotely in the organization. These computers are a big help for all of us.” said Ms. Teresita D. Gomez, Executive Director, PRESO Inc.

A simple turnover ceremony and signing of the acceptance documents were conducted during the activity. PSALM has been conducting computer transfers and donations as its regular CSR project since 2010.
