PSALM allows use of Bagac, Bataan facility to help with the COVID-19 relief efforts

Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 11469 or the "Bayanihan to Heal as One Act," the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) and the Municipality of Bagac, Province of Bataan entered into an agreement which allows the Municipality to use PSALM's Bagac Hotel and Conference Center, free of charge, as transition housing for recently discharged patients that need to be isolated for 14 days. As precautionary measure, non-COVID-19 hospital patients are required to undergo 14 days of quarantine after they are discharged from the hospital to ensure that they have not been exposed to the COVID-19 virus while hospitalized. They are directed to utilize PSALM's facilities during the said quarantine period immediately upon leaving the hospital, and before they are permitted to reunite with their families.

PSALM has designated three spacious cottages inside the Bagac Hotel compound to use as a quarantine facility for these non-COVID 19 patients.

Section 4 of RA No. 11469 authorizes government entities such as PSALM to permit the use of its real properties as housing for healthcare frontliners, quarantine centers, temporary medical facilities and relief distribution locations.

PSALM submitted on 27 March 2020 an inventory of its assets, including real estate properties, to the Department of Finance and the Department of Energy for possible consideration for the National Government's projects, programs and activities in the united fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
