PSALM Attends Inter-Agency "Task Force Oil Spill" Meeting in Iloilo

Today, PSALM representatives, Danielle-Anne O. Rubinos (Chief of Staff, Office of the President and CEO) and Angelito Jamisolamin (Human Resources and Administrative General Services), together with contractor Kuan Yu Global Technologies, Inc., attended the inter-agency task force meeting called by Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. The meeting was held at the Governor's conference room and presided by Iloilo Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias. The meeting is planned to be conducted henceforth every Monday of the week.

The following local government agencies and groups were represented in the meeting: Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Environment Management Bureau; Department of Health; Department of Interior and Local Government; the Bureau of Customs; United Nations Development Programme- European Civil Protection Mechanism; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Philippine Coast Guard. Local media were also present in the meeting.

Dr. Resurreccion Sabada of the University of the Phillippines Visayas made a presentation on oil spills. This was followed by a presentation from the Philippine Coast Guard's Region VI District Commander Athelo Ybanez and from PSALM's contractor.

Ms. Rubinos reported that PSALM distributed GSIS forms with a list of requirements for medical reimbursement and death claims, to families in Botongon, Estancia. Moreover, she reported that 1,000 N95 masks were turned over to the NPC PB 103 management, for the benefit of the Philippine National Police and barangay tanods assigned at the checkpoint near the site where PB 103 ran aground.
