PSALM provides initial assistance for families affected by PB 103 oil spill

Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr., Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation President and CEO, reported that the company provided initial financial assistance to the families affected by the Power Barge (PB) 103 oil spill in Estancia.

On 26 November 2013, PSALM issued a check in the amount of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP1,500,000.00) to the Provincial Government of Iloilo for the benefit of the families who were required to evacuate on 23 November 2013 by Governor Arthur D. Defensor, Sr. Today, 27 November 2013, PSALM issued a check in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP500,000.00) to the Municipal Government of Estancia through Mayor Rene S. Cordero for said families. This week, PSALM will likewise provide mats, pillows, and blankets to these families.

Last weekend, on 23 November 2013, PSALM donated Fifty Thousand Pesos (PhP50,000.00) to the Municipal Government of Estancia for the benefit of thirty families living near the area where PB 103 ran aground due to Typhoon Yolanda. The PSALM Association of Corporate Employees also provided a donation from its contributions from PSALM personnel.
