Four suppliers eye PSALM's fuel requirements for 2nd semester

At least four suppliers have expressed interest in bidding for the supply and the delivery of the oil-based fuel (OBF) requirements of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation for the second semester of 2011.

The interested parties recently attended the Pre-bid Conference conducted by PSALM on the procurement project, which has a total approved budget of PhP9.4 billion (PhP9,446,215,620.00).

During the conference, PSALM discussed with the prospective bidders the salient provisions of the bidding exercise, including the supply of industrial diesel oil (IDO) and industrial fuel oil (IFO) for the power plants of PSALM and its independent power producers.

PSALM will specifically need 150 kiloliters (kL) of IDO for the Malaya Thermal Power Plant (TPP) located in Pililia, Rizal Province.

For its IFO requirements, PSALM will need 150,000 kL for the Malaya TPP; 14,000 kL for the Davao City-based Power Barge 104; 26,500 kL for the Southern Philippines Power Corp. located in Sarangani; and 46,500 kL for the Western Mindanao Power Corp. based in Zamboanga Province.

The deadline for the submission of bids for the OBF procurement project is on Friday, 17 June 2011, 10 a.m. at the PSALM offices in Makati City. The Bid Opening activity will commence thereafter at 10:15 a.m.
