Clarification

The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation would like to clarify recent media reports stating that it has yet to receive a formal resolution from the Supreme Court (SC) regarding its request for repairs and rehabilitation works in the Angat Dam in Bulacan Province.

In its en banc resolution dated 28 September 2010, the SC granted and allowed PSALM's motion dated 17 September 2010 to repair and rehabilitate the low level outlet and Bypass No.5 of the Angat Dam without the need for a bond.

PSALM had also informed and furnished the National Power Corporation a copy of the resolution, while the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System, as party-respondent to the case, had been duly notified by the Supreme Court itself.

PSALM filed the motion to avoid the scarcity of potable water supply in Metro Manila as an effect of the prolonged El Nino phenomenon that hit the country last year.
