Ma. Luz L. Caminero was recently designated acting president and chief executive officer of the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation vice Mr. Jose C. Ibazeta, who was designated acting secretary of the Department of Energy.
Atty. Caminero's appointment papers were signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo last 25 March 2010.
Prior to her designation, Atty. Caminero was vice president of the Corporation's Office of the General Counsel, a post she had held since 2001. She worked as chief corporate attorney of the Tax Counseling, Corporate and Government Relations Department in the Office of the General Counsel of National Power Corporation, and also served as legal adviser for two of National Power's previous presidents.
Before her involvement in the energy sector, Atty. Caminero's legal practice was with the Judiciary, working under the offices of Justice Fidel P. Purisima from 1989 to 1991, and Justice Flerida Ruth P. Romero from 1991 to 1995. A 1987 Bachelor of Laws graduate of the University of the Philippines, Atty. Caminero has been practicing law for more than 20 years.
