PSALM reschedules bidding for Amlan, Tiwi-MakBan power plants

25 Jun 2008

The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (PSALM) has rescheduled the bidding for the 0.8-megawatt (MW) Amlan Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the 289-MW Tiwi and 458.53-MW MakBan geothermal power facilities to accommodate the request of prospective bidders who said they needed more time to conduct their due diligence activities.

PSALM, for its part, will have more leeway in threshing out the issues raised by the investor groups eyeing the power plants.

In a Supplemental Bid Bulletin (SBB) sent to the prospective bidders, PSALM announced that the Bid Submission Deadline for the Amlan power plant, which was originally scheduled at 12 noon today (25 June), has been moved to 23 July 2008.

The Final Transaction Documents for the Negros Oriental-based power facility, which has attracted five investor groups, will be issued on 16 July 2008.

In the SBB sent to the nine parties initially qualified to bid for the Tiwi-MakBan geothermal plant package, PSALM set the Bid Submission Deadline on 30 July 2008. PSALM will release the Final Transaction Documents for the two plants on 21 July 2008.
