Celebrating by giving: PSALM GAD-FPS and volunteers visit Marillac Hills facility as part of NWMC celebration
In line with the observance of the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC), members of the PSALM Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS), along with fifteen (15) employee-volunteers, visited on 27 March 2025 the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Marillac Hills- National Training School for Girls in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. GAD-FPS members and volunteers distributed toiletries, hygiene items, food products and personal effects to the residents of the school.
The conduct of this GAD-FPS activity also coincided with the Girl Child Week held yearly every last week of March.
Marillac Hills is a rehabilitation facility for young women and children ages 7 to 18 who have experienced sexual abuse or exploitation, child labor, and human trafficking. The facility also provides care, custody and psychosocial development and support for children in legal trouble.
As PSALM's arm for implementing corporate gender and development programs and activities, the GAD-FPS spearheads the annual celebration of NWMC. In accordance with Proclamation No. 1988 s. 227, PSALM through GAD-FPS conducts the annual NWMC every March to honor the accomplishments of Filipino women to the nation’s progress. At the core of the movement to encourage and empower women is to implement strategies for advancing gender equality and women empowerment both within and outside the workplace.
